*****GUILD EXPEDITION LOTTERY RULES/PROCEDURES****

The Guild Expedition Lottery thread will include, the weekly numbered list of guild members eligible to win, the announcement of the winner as well as the winner's GB to be donated to, and finally, the postings of the donations from those who donated.

Eligibility:

All members of the guild are potentially eligible. 48 to 63 GE encounters will earn 1 entry. 64 GE encounters will earn a second entry.  80 GE Encounters will win 3 entries.  There are three exceptions to this.

1. A member is not eligible if they won the Lottery in the previous week.

2. A member is not eligible if they have no GB in their city.

3. The member or Founder performing the random selection of the winning number is not eligible.

The winner in the previous week is encouraged to do the drawing in the next Lottery after they win as they will not be eligible. If they do not wish to, or are not available, a Founder or member appointed by the Lottery Administrator who agrees to forgo their eligibility will do the drawing.

Numbered list of eligible winners:

At the end of each week's lottery, (Mondays), the Lottery Administrator, (LA), will prepare a list of all eligible members, giving each name a corresponding number. Those who completed 48 encounters will be entered one time. Those who completed 64 encounters will be entered two times. Exceptions described above will be excluded. The LA will notify the Random Number Selector, (RNS), of the total number of entries and remove them and the backup member from the Lottery thread making the list invisible to them.

Selection of the winning number:

Upon receiving the number of entries from the LA, the RNS shall use "random.org" to generate the winning number and post it in the main guild thread, as well as pm-ing the LA. The LA will then promptly announce the name that corresponds with the number as the winner of that week's Lottery in both the main thread and the Lottery thread, asking the winner to post their Great Building of choice in the Lottery thread.

GB selection:

Ideally, a member will respond within 24 hours of being asked which GB they would like to be awarded. Members may put a note in their player profile ahead of time in the event they win. If there is no reply within 24 hours, the LA will check the player's profile for a GB. If there is no GB in the player's profile then the LA will direct the guild to donate to the winner's Observatory. If there is no Observatory in the winner's city then it will be up to the discretion of the LA.

Back up(s):

If the LA wins, the following week a Founder or appointed member, (by a Founder and/or LA), who agrees to administer the Lottery, will post the numbered list after removal of the LA from the Lottery thread. Once the winning number has been announced, the LA will then be readmitted, restoring their admin rights to the thread.

Awarding the winner:

When the winner posts their GB of choice, the donors will post their donations to it and in the Lottery thread, (+10). The winner may not appoint another guild member to receive the award.
